Torrid has heard our cries for relief from these dreary times with a blow out sale!

Hello my lovely curvy readers,

I hope everyone is doing fine and coping in these tough times. I wanted to make this weeks blog fun and hopefully a relief from all this Coronavirus pandemic! I was so happy to receive an email from Torrid ceo Liz Munoz who stared she was so moved by emails she received about how Torrid has meant so much in these tough times to customers that she decided to have a 50% off everything on site sale along with free shipping!

Not only did she extend the sale but nothing was excluded! I snagged a gorgeous floral embroidered moto jacket for $35! ( I was even able to use my bday coupon of $10!) from $129! (Sadly it was quickly sold out when the sale started so I don’t have a pic) I included some cool and easy to style staples that you can snap up so get your much needed retail therapy on!

Hello my lovely curvy readers,

I was flipping through the pages of another glossy magazine when I came across a new trend for Spring; wear rainbow stripes with a candy colored twist. I loved all the beautiful pops of delicious colors that reminded me of those rainbow mints you would see in your grand mother’s candy bowl or a doctors offices back in the nineties when you were a kid.. What I didn’t see was any suggestions for plus sized or curvy women and that bothered me a lot! We can rock stripes just as well as any straight sized woman! There is a huge myth going around that curvy girls can’t wear stripes as it makes us look bigger..I wear stripes all the time and I’m a size 16 and I don’t look any bigger..So get out your wallets take our guide and go get some yummy rainbow stripes! I have chosen everything under $40!

I absolutely have fallen on love with the Boho style and have been mixing it with my rocker/punk style for a while now! I am so happy to see it come back in style in different versions every year! So my fellow curvy girls I have put together some cute outfits for you to try out. I don’t like ponchos on curvy girls as it just makes us look boxy so instead go for a kimono or blanket cardigan that you can layer. Leave multi tiered skirts alone as they are too cliché and can make you look older and instead go for a flowy maxi skirt or shorter flared Boho printed skirt. I hate traditional peasant tops for the same reason as ponchos and instead go for an embroidered tank or a short sleeved silk modern peasant style that opens at the neck.

Ok so I know you’ve seen animal prints everywhere. They have been on every runway for the past 3 years. a lot of us chunky girls get scared of animals prints because we think it will make us look chunkier. Well i am here to tell you not to be afraid! When you wear an animal print (whether its zebra, leopard, cheetah or lizard) be sure to wear solids and make the animal print be a focal piece; for example a black pencil skirt with an animal print top or just the shoe or handbag. I have included some pics to show you animal print done right!
