Marc Jacobs has come back swinging out the gates with his beautiful and luxe new lines..

Hello my lovely readers!

We are all heart broken when 2015 saw Marc by Marc Jacobs line sputter followed by Marc Jacobs leaving his beloved 3 decades self titled brand; but alas we can all dry our tears because as of 2019 Marc Jacobs is back with the new brand The Marc Jacobs and this time he is focusing on RTW pieces with whimsical and pop culture vibes.
His Spring 2020 lines feature Snoopy and our favorite bold Floral patterns yet ethereal ruffled blouses and dresses.. In his Madison Avenue store customers are treated to bottled water and a photo booth upstairs making for a fun way to spend a little of your weekend afternoon and there is something for everyone when it comes to pricing (We found a heart mirror for $10 and some bags were $250!) We included pictures of the pieces we fell in love with…enjoy!

Your fashion goddess,

Okay so you are thinking what’s the difference between tribal and safari? And how can two similar trends be in style at the same time? Couple this with floral and the whole world seems to be traveling from the jungle to forest to field. Okay, maybe the longer then usual winter has us all seeking greener days. So the difference between tribal and safari is print. You won’t find any prints in safari which caters more towards neutral colors, hats, and a little more structure with shorter lengths (structure at waist for bottoms and at chest for shirts then flares out). So how do you get this look for your style? Read below and see how. Oh and Lucky I saw that tribal issue ūüėČ

Classic

These designers take Safari Classic

There is not really a possibility that you do not have a pair of neutral colored shorts or pants in your closet. Try shorts or pants in light neutrals – white, tan, or khaki. Blue will take the look nautical and black will sink it all together. A v-neck t-shirt is great but a buttoned up see-through top is risky. Remember to keep bottoms light but you can go dark on top for a great contrast. Espadrilles or wood heeled shoes add the best to the look. Stay away from tribal accessories which could muddle the look.

Causal

Tribal for causal - add a jacket and you are safari

Get yourself a jacket. A safari jacket (khaki, alot of pockets and a defined waist or the one above) will pull you into this trend no matter what you wear. Try to find white jeans, utility pants or khakis and pair with a t-shirt of your choice and you are in the trend.

Glam

Give safari more glamour with bright tropical prints

Adding a tropical print shirt instantly gives tribal a whole new look such as Missoni and Gucci. Also, try to add gold accents which always adds glam. Try shirts in silk-like or silk materials for a more polished look.

Punk/Rock

Balmain showcases safari with a rock flair while punk should try bright colors

The picture made be so two seasons ago but the idea remains the same. Rockers should add deconstructed tops to the traditional khaki pants and pair with a leather jacket that you know you have in your closet. Balmain did it best in the picture above while Blumarine went punk with bright colors and Marc Jacobs with a flirty tulle skirt.

Vintage/Romance

Add Romance to Safari

By adding a flowing skirt like in Oscar De la Renta and Proenza Schouler, the look adds a romantic feel. The top should always be a typical safari top – lost of pockets, neutral shade and cinched in the waist. It must cinch in the waist if you plan not to wear a structured bottom. For vintage, a safari dress like in rag and bone above with a straw hat brings it all together.

The between trend becomes fashion

Resort wear use to be considered the forget-me-not marketing plot of designers who just couldn’t get thier spring collections out before the runway got too warm. However, these days resort wear has blossomed into a full collection with the addition of coverups, swimwear (new designers have entered this domain), sheer pants and of course staples like sport jackets and tees. So how do we embrace this new trend while we are still clinging to our coats and thumbing through magazines looking longingly at the spring fashions?

Well, living in a warm climate all year around helps but for those who don’t have such luxury here are some simple tips to add resort wear to your between season wardrobe.

Resortwear is meet for travelers, jettsetters and snowbirds so don’t purchase these fashions if you don’t plan to go on vacation. However if you happen to live in Cali or SoFl. Classics go for shorts and nuetral colors like tan and impress maritime styles. Ralph lauren has just your look.

Romance and Vintage dressers go for the long sheer dresses and jumpsuits in bright colors. Floral prints are encouranged. For Glam queens go for animal prints, rust colored rompers and gold jewelry. Marc Jacobs also has great sequin styles you will love. Punks and rockers this trend is a little tricky, pair floucy tops with skinny jeans or tights and add some studded accessories. Remeber, stay flowy on top or bottom so separates are your friends. For sport, Micheal Kors and Alexander Wang have great neon colors, short overjackets and jeans.

Enjoy and come back for more Spring styles.

Ok so now for style 2: Bohemian

Bohemians are relaxed and feminine. The boho style is effortless and doesn’t look put together. Thier closets are full of dresses, long skirts, flowy tops (especially peasant style) and distressed denim. Floppy hats, hippie headbands, big sunglasses and boots are some of their favorite accessories.

New trends to Try:

This top Marc Jacobs’ affordable line Marc and is just what bohemians need! The lace top is in for spring but in a crocheted version for boho chics. Pair it with loose cuffed shorts in olive green (for the military trend) and your ready for Spring!
