Fall 2012 is all about the femme fatale and gothic romance. So what’s a bad girl to do? Well why wait for Fall! I say let your inner rock chick or bad girl out by combining your leather pieces with warm weather friendly pieces, like bustiers, cotton tees, bright Summer colors and patterns! You can use these pieces for Fall by adding back your regular cooler weather gear so voila! You have used your leather in Summer! Enjoy!

Hey my lovely readers! I have decided to highlight the most long awaited trend this year….the maxi skirt! I know everyone is tired of the itty bitty skirts that have been everywhere for the past couple of years (eyes roll). So now its refreshing to see that long billowy skirts are in! But how do you where them without looking like your grandma or as if you just escaped off a Quaker farm? well I’m here to help! I have created some looks for you to see how the maxi skirt can be worn and I’ll also include some tips.

You can wear a maxi skirt with a t-shirt, motorcycle jacket or western shirt (or any button down shirt if you don’t like western wear). make sure your tee is nice and fitted and always tuck it in so it looks more chic. Make sure to add a bold Statement belt. Try to stay away from tiered skirts so you don’t look like you are auditioning for the new Little House On The Prarie; instead look for loose and slightly flared billowy maxi skirts like you just came back from vacationing in Ibiza (a girl can dream, sigh!). Shoes that can be paired with your maxi skirts are gladiator sandals or cowboy (or ankle boots). There you have it! Enjoy!

OK so now we’ll move on to the next style: Romance

Romance style is all about being feminine and girlie, soft and pretty. Romance types will have in their closets sheer, lace or vintage (tops, dresses or skirts) anything with ruffles, and pastels. You can find romance types sipping herbal tea at the local cafe with their heads buried in a romantic novel. Candles and flowers are always a must. Romance styles don’t have to do much to update their closets as you will already have this Springs hottest fashion trends: sheers, lace and floral prints already in your closets. So I chose an updated version of the romantic top; this top from Free People because it has everything (lace vintage feel, ruffles and its sheer).

Ok so now for style 2: Bohemian

Bohemians are relaxed and feminine. The boho style is effortless and doesn’t look put together. Thier closets are full of dresses, long skirts, flowy tops (especially peasant style) and distressed denim. Floppy hats, hippie headbands, big sunglasses and boots are some of their favorite accessories.

New trends to Try:

This top Marc Jacobs’ affordable line Marc and is just what bohemians need! The lace top is in for spring but in a crocheted version for boho chics. Pair it with loose cuffed shorts in olive green (for the military trend) and your ready for Spring!

Since we pretty much covered trends for spring how about helping you put all those trends to good use with the style you already have! I’m going to list a couple of types of styles and then give them each their own blog entry and how you can mix in trends. These are the types: 1. Rocker, 2. Bohemian, 3.Romantic, 4. Sophisticated

We will start with ROCKER

The rocker has a collection of vintage band tees, wears a lot of faded and distressed jeans, owns a leather jacket or two, pairs everything with boots. Corsets and converse sneakers are also seen on rockers. And if your like me studs, studs and more studs! oh and bling it up!

So trends you can add to your wardrobe are: The neutral studded boot, updated motorcycle jacket, studded bag
