We end our Spring trend with one of my fave grunge staples; the denim vest. This piece is surprisingly more versatile then you think as it can be paired with skirts, dresses and joggers as well as can be distressed, studded or worn plain. It can be worn with any type of footwear! Next week we will explore how to dress these trends in your personal style but here’s our picks this week all under $50!
We bring you the next trend in the resurrected punk trend; studded shoes! I love how studs add such edgy detail and will add a cool factor to any basic outfit. I also love that it doesn’t matter the shoe style anyone you prefer can benefit from added studs.. Here are our picks and as usual all are under $70
Punk has taken a bag seat in trends since the resurgence of the nineties but I am to see it make a resurrection this Spring with accessories once again getting the stud, rivet and nailhead treatments! Darker colors are also in this Spring which is a nice edgier change..I love when punk is in trend because I get to add better quality and cheaper pieces to my wardrobe without having to scour the net..I decided to choose Grommets on bags because this detail is usually reserved for protecting added holes to garments; so it gives a light weight but cool detail when used as decoration.. Below are our faves under $50!
Killstar a brand known for alternative streetwear is doing an extra 20% off site wide including clearance! Hurry there is only 12 hours left and by shopping in the clearance section I was able to score 3 sweaters, a sweatshirt and a bag for my fall and winter needs for $101!
Quick tip for plus size or tall girls, you can shop in the men’s section as everything is a bit oversized and longer length and they are unisex. I have included a snapshot of what I got below!
This is our last post on the high end accessories and designer dupes posts so I decided for the last one to give you a Fall 2018 trend which is the box bag. This bag can still carry your essentials but is structured and chic enough for after work drinks or a nice weekend out. The Mark Cross bag is such a lovely color and the gold hardware and thin crossbody strap are icing on the cake; but at a whopping price tag of over $2,000 this Zara bag will just have to do for most of us and it’s also very chic and well made..Hope you enjoyed this and get some of our recommendations; if you do let us know in the comments!
When I first glanced these shoes in Elle magazine I was blown away by how rock and roll yet chic these mesh booties by Jimmy Choo were. I quickly did a search and saw that several high end brands had made some version of the mesh (or caged) bootie heel as well as I have seen ultra fab women stomping down fifth avenue in the pump version. These gorgeous shoes will set you back over $1,000 so I have scoured the internet (this one broke out a little sweat as high end designers did not want this design to be reproduced!) and found you an alternative that costs a mere $54! You welcome! I know your wallet thanks me..
It’s been a while since we chose a specific luxury designer item and tried to find it’s match. Fakes should never be an option (and I won’t preach to you all the reasons why when you can google it if you are interested) as there are so many small businesses that create well made pieces that look just as good as the real thing and will cost a fraction of the high end designer. I decided to first choose the Hatbox bag as it has been all over the runways and is a cool unique shape that can dress up any outfit. St. Laurent is made of calfskin ( which I know isn’t vegan friendly) while the Lux De Ville dupe( which I own the glitter purple version of so can attest to its well made and beautiful craftsmanship) is made of vegan leather and has a quilted spider web design..FYI the bag of the Luxe De Ville bag is solid black in the back so if you don’t like the spider web u can flip it to the back and also remove the skull keychain that comes with it.
Summer is finally upon us and as I was walking around New York City one day I noticed more and more men carrying tote bags instead of messenger bags; and I thought it was such a cool idea as us ladies have been carrying tote bags for so long. Tote bags are a great way to help the planet by not needing to carry plastic bags; but also because they are light weight, can carry anything and can be thrown in the wash! Tote bags don’t have to be the free ones with logos thrown on the front but can be structured, zippered, come in nice fabrics and can look really chill slung over a shoulder. You can find them to suit any style. Below I have scoured the internet to find cool totes that won’t break the bank but look more expensive so you can leave the messenger bag at home..and Totes are great all year round..so enjoy!
Finally the weather is thawing out and we can finally enjoy the sun; but with warm weather comes the humidity and mugginess of Summer..So why not carry everything in a light weight and stylish bag that goes with any of your Summer wardrobe? I first saw transparent handbags when I looked at Korean bloggers’ posts as well as in Japanese magazines such as Mini magazine’s May 2018 issue and couldn’t help but noticed they were more chic and just as structured as regular handbags! I loved how they wore baseball caps, sundresses and either sneakers or sandals for a perfect, fun and stylish warm weather look. It was a little tougher finding these kind of bags in the us online for reasonable prices but I found several styles all under $40! I hope you find one from our picks and let us know in the comments!
Clear bags are featured in the May 2018 issue of Mini
