We had so much fun with men so next up for our Disney bound series I decided to do a look for my fellow curvy and lovely readers! I chose the dastardly and fierce Sea Witch Ursula from The Little Mermaid! I decided to choose a more dressy as well as alternative look as I have only seen Ursula done casual and basic. I had to go with a more fierce look to pay homage to one of my fave villians..enjoy!
Spring is finally around us and I feel head over heels in love with the new trend of combining neon yellow and green! It’s such a juicy fresh take and absolutely perfect on curvier bodies as a nice way to stand out! I have included dresses and shoe combos and all are under $60!
I am so excited for this trend as I love bohemian rocker looks so the flowy maxi dress is a perfect addition to my wardrobe! This dress is so flattering as it’s made of light airy materials so it flows with the body. This Fall colors range from dark to neons and patterns are bold and mostly floral, magazines like Harper’s Bazaar are pairing the dresses with boots for a tougher yet lady like style. We found some examples and hope you will try the trend..Style Tip: throw on a moto jacket over this dress and pair it with doc martens to inject a little bit of bad ass into the frills..
I love myself some T-shirt’s and always graphic tees; but the ones made for curvier women tend to be looser fitting and boxy ( don’t get me wrong those are great for lazy weekends and lounging around) but for a night out or for more figure flattering looks a slim fit is much better! Graphic tees can be worn with anything and is a sexy way to be comfortable and show your playful side! So hope you love my selections! Enjoy and before I go here’s a Style tip: have a rocker or punk aesthetic but hate you can’t find your style in the women’s sections? Almost every men’s section has a graphic slim fit tee with some sort of “edgy” or skull graphic ( like all dudes just want to ride motorcycles or join a band) tee and they are longer and so flattering on women! I shop the men’s section a lot because of my ample bosom and tummy..and no one ever guesses its for men because of the way I style things..
So many websites and blogs have finely started to cover plus size swim wear but I haven’t seen any that cover how to choose the perfect one to hide problem areas and accentuate your best assets so you can feel comfortable and sexy..So we decided to pick three problem areas and the swim suits styles that hide them so you can not only feel confident but sexy and beach ready!!
Small breast but large Tummy
So you have a C cup or smaller but still have a tummy? The best swim suit for your figure is (🥁) the bandeau swim suit. This high waisted bottom with a peek a boo middle and a bandeau top leaving nice cleavage and sexy shoulders visible is perfect.
Large Breast and Tummy
Put the “girls” in a swimsuit with support and focus on the art of the cutout. Think Tankinis with larger coverage instead of a figure hiding full bathing suit.
Short legs and thick thighs
Thick thighs save lives! But when you carry most of your weight on the bottom of your body swimsuits can sometimes be tough to find to high light those curves so try skirted bottoms. It is a great way to accent your hips!
Its that time again for temperatures to reach sweltering and to reach for any icy glass of anything..lol It’s Summer and with it the call of beach days, parties and festivals. What better way to ring in another Summer then with new swimwear? Every year we see straight size girls get all the new colors, cuts and added frills to their swimsuits, but what about the us? We need options too right? That’s why when I came across a sexy one piece swimsuit with unique cut outs I decided I had to share this cool new cut!
I love that these cut outs are done tastefully so that it doesn’t look tawdry or tacky and in very flattering places on the body. I was very happy to see it wasn’t only done in just black swimsuits but various colors and patterns as well. This one piece is perfect with a pair of cut off shorts thrown over or with a billowy kimono shawl; the looks are undress and all will give you just the right amount of sexy..I chose four of my faves and all are under $100 because swimwear shouldn’t be so expensive you can’t have fun and experiment with different styles like other article of clothing. Let us know what you think of this one piece! I know I’ll be getting one! Enjoy!
I was flipping through the pages of another glossy magazine when I came across a new trend for Spring; wear rainbow stripes with a candy colored twist. I loved all the beautiful pops of delicious colors that reminded me of those rainbow mints you would see in your grand mother’s candy bowl or a doctors offices back in the nineties when you were a kid.. What I didn’t see was any suggestions for plus sized or curvy women and that bothered me a lot! We can rock stripes just as well as any straight sized woman! There is a huge myth going around that curvy girls can’t wear stripes as it makes us look bigger..I wear stripes all the time and I’m a size 16 and I don’t look any bigger..So get out your wallets take our guide and go get some yummy rainbow stripes! I have chosen everything under $40!
The holidays are upon us and with it comes all the holiday parties. Being curvy makes it sometimes hard to look Chic and sexy during the holidays but; not anymore! You can’t go wrong with a sequin dress! It’s sparkly, flattering and goes with any shoes and accessories you may have in your closet. This season sees the long sleeve sequin dress as a new silhouette and I couldn’t be happier as it keeps you warm, hides any flaws and looks so sexy on any body type. Try pairing this dress with neutral accessories or add sequin or rhinestone pieces for that glittery Christmas Ornament vibe! I was totally surprised to find many options in slinky, sexy and cute designs; all being under $127! Let us know if you Fall in Love with any of our glamorous pics!
It’s almost time for Winter. If your like me it’s very difficult to find a coat that makes you look hot and keeps you warm! I always have to size up and then look super bulky when I add sweaters or hoodies under as I live in NYC and the winters are brutal! I did manage to find a coat from Andrew Marc last year that was cozy and kept me looking chic! So I have rounded up my top picks of flattering coats in different cuts, colors and styles; all to keep you warm, toasty and haute! Hope you agree!
I am obsessed with faux fur coats and jackets! ( I have 10) I love them more then moto jackets because I feel they add a luxe rocker vibe when paired with leggings, tees and body con dresses! I also love being cozy and in the Fall faux fur is a life saver! ( I prefer genuine fur in the winter..sorry Peta but below zero temps require animal skins or you will freeze to death!)
Sadly when I started collecting faux fur coats (thanks Scream Queens) they were a lot cheaper and standard sizes came oversized so I was able to buy those and pay under $50 (2 yrs ago), fast forward and faux fur coats and jackets have shrunken and doubled in prices, so I had to make my choices under $115…
