3 Capes in every style

Capes have finally made the trip from winter chic to Spring must have and we have the deets on how to rock the trend.

By Yvette E

It is always hard adding a new piece to your wardrobe, so we always love to highlight ways to buy, wear or ditch a trend.

Not everyone can rock a cape but if you are not the timid or super casual type (i.e. you live in sweats) then these looks are for you.

Casual Capes

Choosing fabric that is already a staple in your closet can make adding a new piece easier.

If you love a casual vibe and want to dress up just a little, we recommend an all denim or sweats vibe. The effect would be causal chic.

Boho Or Witchy Capes

Left: Kiki Riki, Black Sheer Cape, $77.90; Right: Free People, Mystic Cape, $399.95

For a great alternative to DollsKill and still price friendly, we love this Kiki Riki sheer cape.

The cape is great for a goth vibe or just a witch core aesthetic. Plus, it can be work with a dress as well as separates.

Classic Cape

Left: COS, Wool Mix Hooded Cape, $139; Right: Off Saks, Saks Off Fifth , $49.

As for classic, we choose 2 styles, one is for a more streamlined look and the other is for a more country vibe.

Be careful, not to confuse a cape with a poncho which are both similar styles. A poncho does not have arm holes and can resemble a blanket or scarf in structure.

Happy Hump day,
